Paul Cubbison vs Mark Ariari

Boxing Daily Report from the Kiwi Promotions promoted show at Wellington Greim, Wellington,  taking place on 12/04/2038:

Clearly Kiwi Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Wellington Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Cubbison (6 - 7 - 4) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Mark Ariari(11 - 6(1) - 3) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Cubbison and Ariari weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sean Stackpole, and the three ringside judges are Denton Rattray, Jonathan Laurie and Erorangi Muunu.  

Round 1: 

Ariari hits home with a cross.  
Cubbison gets on the inside and forces Ariari to retreat into a neutral corner.  Ariari tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Ariari pivots to the left of his opponent.  Cubbison connects with a right hook.  
Ariari sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cubbison's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Ariari's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ariari dabs at his face checking for damage.  Ariari has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
