Santiago Lindog vs Nicandro Tongol

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Philippines-Rizal promoted show at Cainta Lima, Cainta,  taking place on 05/05/2038:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Philippines-Rizal Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Lindog (19(10) - 4) who hails from Antipolo, Philippines and Nicandro Tongol(19 - 10 - 3) from Rodriguez, Philippines.  Lindog weighed in at 108 pounds, while Tongol weighed in at 108 pounds And 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Peter Buenaventura, and the three ringside judges are Santiago Perales, Nemesio Banaticla and Jesus Katipunan.  

Round 1: 

Lindog is on target with a solid left hook to Tongol's body.  
Lindog lands a cross.  
Lindog closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Tongol steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Lindog sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Lindog advances into close range and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Lindog holds on to his opponent.  Lindog pushes his forearm into Tongol's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Lindog throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Lindog ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Lindog pushes his forearm into Tongol's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Lindog lands a left hook.  
Lindog walks Tongol down, trapping him in the red corner.  Lindog digs in a sharp right hook to Tongol's ribs.  Lindog clinches his opponent.  Lindog is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Lindog about fouling.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Tongol's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Tongol's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Lindog lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Lindog holds on to his opponent.  Lindog leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Tongol has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Tongol steps to the outside.  Lindog lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Lindog steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Lindog drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Lindog steps inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Lindog manages to force Tongol onto the ropes.  Lindog quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Tongol throws a left uppercut, but Lindog clinches his opponent.  Lindog leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lindog to stop holding.

Tongol steps away from his opponent.  Lindog thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Tongol away.  Lindog lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a cross to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the body, KNOCKING TONGOL DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.
