Charlie Lauwers vs Jens Gheleyns

Boxing Daily Report from the Fosuhehe Promotions promoted show at Ghent Perlant, Ghent,  taking place on 04/11/2021:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Belgium-Flanders Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Charlie Lauwers (4 - 1 - 5) who hails from Antwerp, Belgium and Jens Gheleyns(3 - 2 - 2) from Antwerp, Belgium.  Lauwers weighed in at 134 pounds And 5 ounces, while Gheleyns weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Valeray Dombasle, and the three ringside judges are Marc Blanco, Blaise Courtellemont and Wies Batens.  

Round 1: 

Lauwers is looking to close the distance.  Gheleyns sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gheleyns attempts to land a left hook, but Lauwers blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gheleyns dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Gheleyns.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Lauwers is looking to close the distance and is on target with a right hook to Gheleyns's body.  
Gheleyns tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a jab, but Lauwers dodges the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gheleyns steps away from his opponent and attempts to land an overhand right, but Lauwers blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
