Mark Devlin vs Dylan Short

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast,  taking place on 29/05/2038:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mark Devlin (7(7) - 1(1) - 1) who hails from Perth, Australia and Dylan Short(8(3) - 5(3) - 1) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Devlin and Short weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Corrie, and the three ringside judges are Bart Albert, Pepe Brunetti and Mark Sear.  

Round 1: 

Devlin advances into close range and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Short hits home with a stinging right hook.  Devlin ties up his opponent.  Short tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Devlin's kidney. 
Devlin is on target with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Devlin waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Short lands a hard jab.  
Devlin closes the distance.  Short throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Devlin ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Devlin pushes his forearm into Short's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Short pivots to the side of his opponent.  Short tries to land a left uppercut, but Devlin blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Devlin steps inside.  Short lands a right hook.  
Devlin attempts to land a jab, but Short sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Devlin closes the distance and is on target with a firm right hook.  
Devlin attempts to land a jab, but Short dodges the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Devlin gets on the inside and is on target with a solid right hook to Short's body.  
Devlin gets on the inside.  Short hits home with a right uppercut.  Devlin holds on to his opponent.  Devlin is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Devlin to stop fouling.  
Short lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Devlin is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body, AND DROPS SHORT TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Short could be stopped here, if Devlin can find the right shot!  Devlin lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  It looks like Short has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Short lands a jab.  
Devlin gets on the inside and drives a sharp right hook into Short's body.  
Devlin steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Devlin lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Short digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Devlin whips in a spiteful right hook to Short's body.  SHORT IS HURT!  Devlin attempts to land a left hook, but Short sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  Short recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Devlin steps inside and throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Devlin clinches his opponent.  Short leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Short connects with a cross.  Short throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Short switches the action to the outside.  Devlin lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Short lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Short walks Devlin onto the ropes.  Short quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a ramrod jab.  
Devlin hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Devlin is on target with a firm right hook to Short's ribcage.  
Devlin lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Short quickly recovers. 
Devlin closes the distance.  Short tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Short lands a jab to his opponents body.  Short attempts to land a left uppercut, but Devlin sidesteps and counters with a VICIOUS left hook.  SHORT WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Short quickly recovers.
