Diego Lopez vs Javier Matos

Boxing Daily Report from the Wonani Promotions promoted show at Sucre Gym, Duran,  taking place on 20/06/2038:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Lopez (7 - 4 - 3) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Javier Matos(4 - 8 - 3) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Lopez weighed in at 160 pounds, while Matos weighed in at 160 pounds and 10 ounces.    As Matos came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Quiqui Rubi, and the three ringside judges are Alfonso Cilia, Alfonso Cilia and Zacarias Urdiales.  

Round 1: 

Lopez connects with an overhand left.  
Matos hits home with a right hook.  
Matos gets on the inside and connects with a left uppercut.  Matos throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Matos tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lopez is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  
Lopez finds the target with a jab.  
Matos is looking to close the distance.  Lopez pivots to the left of his opponent.  Matos hits home with a right hook.

Lopez has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
