Reyes Topete vs Pedro Higuera

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Dominican Republic-Distrito Nacional promoted show at Santo Domingo de Guz Vayo, Santo Domingo de Guzman,  taking place on 27/06/2038:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Dominican Republic-Distrito Nacional Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on CERTV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Reyes Topete (18 - 12) who hails from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic and Pedro Higuera(27(11) - 2) from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic.  Topete weighed in at 117 pounds And 9 ounces, while Higuera weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Guillermo Galea, and the three ringside judges are Joaquin Mena, Reynaldo Arellanes and Diego Ribas.  

Round 1: 

Higuera is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body, DROPPING TOPETE TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Higuera gets on the inside.  Topete throws a right hook, but Higuera clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Higuera pushes his forearm into Topete's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Higuera to stop fouling.  
Topete steps to the outside.  Higuera lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Higuera gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Higuera ties up his opponent.  Higuera is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Higuera advances into close range and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Topete pivots to the right of his opponent.  Higuera tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Higuera steps inside.  Topete throws a right hook, but Higuera clinches his opponent.  Higuera leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Higuera advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND SENDS TOPETE SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Higuera senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Higuera lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body, AND SENDS TOPETE TO THE CANVAS!  The ref does not even bother with the count...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Higuera!
