Macario Tamayo vs Mark Duke

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Magic City Casino, Miami,  taking place on 09/07/2038:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Macario Tamayo (2 - 0) who hails from Santa Clara, Cuba and Mark Duke(1 - 5 - 1) from Houston, USA.  Tamayo weighed in at 108 pounds, while Duke weighed in at 107 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is John Owens, and the three ringside judges are Fraser Vail, Mark Swain and Paul Corse.  

Round 1: 

Duke lands a cross.  
Tamayo closes the distance.  Tamayo pivots from in front of his opponent.  Tamayo hits home with a right hook.  Tamayo ties up his opponent.  Tamayo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Tamayo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Tamayo digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Tamayo ties up his opponent.  Tamayo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Tamayo pushes his forearm into Duke's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Tamayo about fouling.

Tamayo sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Tamayo pivots to the side of his opponent.  Duke throws a left hook, but Tamayo ties up his opponent.  Tamayo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Duke behind the head. The referee warns Tamayo and breaks the clinch.  
Tamayo throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps.  Tamayo clinches his opponent.  Tamayo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Tamayo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Tamayo is on target with a right hook.  
Tamayo lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Duke almost instantly recovers. 
Tamayo walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Tamayo tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Tamayo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a solid left hook to Duke's body.  
Tamayo pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Tamayo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Duke throws a left hook, but Tamayo clinches his opponent.  Tamayo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Tamayo advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Tamayo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Tamayo is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tamayo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a stinging right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Duke sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Duke tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Tamayo is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Tamayo advances into close range and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Duke quickly recovers. 
Tamayo lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Tamayo pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Duke is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Tamayo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Tamayo gets on the inside and walks Duke down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Tamayo connects with a right uppercut.  
Tamayo pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Duke quickly recovers. 
Tamayo lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Tamayo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Tamayo sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Duke throws a right hook, but Tamayo clinches his opponent.  Tamayo throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Duke steps to the outside.  Duke quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Tamayo lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Duke's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Duke's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Duke's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Duke throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Tamayo's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Tamayo lands a right hook.  
Tamayo lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Tamayo lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Tamayo gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut.  
Duke pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Duke manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Duke sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Tamayo lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Duke steps away from his opponent.  Tamayo lands a cross, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.  
Tamayo is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tamayo is looking to keep his distance and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Tamayo voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Duke is whaling away with hooks, but Tamayo keeps his defence tight.

Tamayo closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Duke sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Tamayo lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Tamayo closes the distance and connects with a right hook.  
Tamayo digs in a solid left hook to Duke's liver.  Duke wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Tamayo.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.

Duke is not fighting as well as he'd like.   He steps in close and swings a low uppercut into Tamayo's groin!  The ref separates the two fighters and tells Duke to keep his punches up.  He gives Tamayo a few minutes to recover.  
Tamayo gets on the inside.  Duke sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Tamayo lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Duke connects with a right uppercut.  
Tamayo digs in a telling right uppercut to Duke's body.  DUKE IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Tamayo!
