Santiago Vasco vs Cipriano Meraz

Boxing Daily Report from the Mashaba Promotions promoted show at Managua Santibanez, Managua,  taking place on 27/02/2039:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Nicaragua-Managua Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Vasco (24(7) - 13(4)) who hails from Managua, Nicaragua and Cipriano Meraz(7 - 3(1) - 1) from Managua, Nicaragua.  Both Vasco and Meraz weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gabriel Morejon, and the three ringside judges are Franco Charo, Joaquin Galea and Aimon Cortinas.  

Round 1: 

Vasco steps inside and digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Vasco hits home with a firm left hook.  
Vasco connects with a left hook.  Vasco throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Meraz pivots to the side of his opponent.  Meraz tries to land a jab, but Vasco slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Meraz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Vasco is on target with a firm right hook.  
Vasco lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Vasco closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Vasco lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Vasco is looking to close the distance.  Vasco wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Meraz dabs at his face checking for damage.
