Angel Carrico vs Hilario Vara

Boxing Daily Report from the Andam Promotions promoted show at Belem Mangual, Belem,  taking place on 23/03/2039:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Brazil-Para Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Esporte Interativo, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Angel Carrico (12 - 10) who hails from Belem, Brazil and Hilario Vara(18(1) - 0 - 1) from Belem, Brazil.  Both Carrico and Vara weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noe Reza, and the three ringside judges are Rogelio Maysonet, Olindo Ruis and Juan Raso.  

Round 1: 

Carrico connects with a cross.  
Carrico tries to land a left hook, but Vara sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Vara lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Vara lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Vara steps inside.  Carrico throws a left uppercut, but Vara ties up his opponent.  Vara is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Vara to stop fouling.

Vara is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Vara sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Vara connects with a left uppercut.  Vara throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Vara pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right uppercut to Carrico's body.  
Vara gets on the inside and manouvers Carrico into a corner.  Vara hits home with a left uppercut.

Vara throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Vara.  Vara attempts to land a right hook, but Carrico slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Vara is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left uppercut.

Vara lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Vara gets on the inside and manages to force Carrico into a corner.  Vara is on target with a right hook.  
Vara lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Vara lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Carrico wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Vara.  That has caused bad swelling  around the left eye.
