Richie Morgan vs Clinton Culbertson

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Illinois promoted show at Rockford Hedley, Rockford,  taking place on 04/06/2039:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Illinois Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Richie Morgan (7 - 11 - 3) who hails from Chicago, USA and Clinton Culbertson(25(8) - 5) from Chicago, USA.  Morgan weighed in at 175 pounds and 14 ounces, while Culbertson weighed in at 175 pounds.    As Morgan came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Max Telfer, and the three ringside judges are Cody Cockburn, Lucas McGowan and James Louttit.  

Round 1: 

Culbertson closes the distance and connects with a stinging right hook.  
Morgan steps away from his opponent.  Morgan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Culbertson lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Morgan advances into close range.  Culbertson goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Morgan's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Morgan is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Culbertson holds on to his opponent.  Culbertson tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Morgan's kidney. 
Culbertson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Morgan attempts to land a jab, but Culbertson sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Culbertson lands a right uppercut.  
Morgan tries to step out of his opponents range.  Morgan feints a cross, but Culbertson is not fooled and responds with a mean cross.  MORGAN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Culbertson walks his opponent into a corner.  Culbertson senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Culbertson lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MORGAN DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  Morgan now seems to have got his legs back.  
Culbertson closes the distance.  As Morgan tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Culbertson dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Morgan connects with a right hook.  
Culbertson steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Culbertson drives a solid right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Morgan's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Morgan's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Culbertson is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Morgan lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Culbertson closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Morgan attempts to land an overhand left, but Culbertson blocks the shot and counters with a mean cross.  MORGAN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Culbertson stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Culbertson lands a left hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands two left uppercuts followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  The winner by KO is Culbertson!
