Ricky Brydon vs Chris Almanzar

Boxing Daily Report from the Zulu Promotions promoted show at Norfolk Couch, Norfolk,  taking place on 30/05/2039:

Clearly Zulu Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Ricky Brydon (1 - 0) who hails from Boise, USA and Chris Almanzar(0 - 2 - 1) from Hialeah, USA.  Both Brydon and Almanzar weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adam Walls, and the three ringside judges are Matt Rhydderch, Sam Cowper and Jamie McClennen.  

Round 1: 

Brydon gets on the inside and is on target with a firm right uppercut.  
Brydon is on target with a jab.  
Almanzar steps away from his opponent.  Brydon lands a straight 1 - 2.

Brydon closes the distance.  Brydon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Almanzar throws a right hook, but Brydon holds on to his opponent.  Brydon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Brydon pushes his forearm into Almanzar's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Brydon drives a firm cross into his opponents body.  
Almanzar pivots from in front of his opponent.  Brydon finds the target with a jab.  
Brydon advances into close range.  Almanzar throws a right hook, but Brydon clinches his opponent.  Brydon leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Almanzar's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Almanzar's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Brydon pivots to the side of his opponent.  Almanzar tries to land a right hook, but Brydon parries the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.

Almanzar steps to the outside.  Brydon attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Almanzar to the neutral corner.  He tells Brydon he will lose a point if he continues to foul.

Brydon lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Brydon steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut.  Brydon attempts to land a left hook, but Almanzar blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.
