Fraser Gillogly vs John McKay

Boxing Daily Report from the Kayo Promotions promoted show at Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium, Newcastle,  taking place on 04/07/2039:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-New South Wales Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on WIN, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Fraser Gillogly (21 - 31(10) - 2) who hails from Sydney, Australia and John McKay(17(10) - 3) from Sydney, Australia.  Both Gillogly and McKay weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Colin McKay, and the three ringside judges are Chris Lobban, Chris Sneden and Hugh Bobko.  

Round 1: 

McKay lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
McKay connects with a cross.  McKay tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McKay is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
McKay lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  McKay holds on to his opponent.  McKay is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McKay.  
McKay lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
McKay lands a left hook, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  McKay ties up his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McKay throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  McKay ties up his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Gillogly is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Gillogly.  
McKay steps inside and is on target with a left hook to Gillogly's ribs.  
Gillogly throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  McKay holds on to his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Gillogly uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits McKay behind the head. 
McKay lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
McKay is on target with a left hook to Gillogly's liver.  
McKay throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  McKay clinches his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks McKay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McKay lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
McKay is on target with a left uppercut to Gillogly's liver.  
McKay steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
McKay advances into close range and manages to force Gillogly into the corner.  McKay sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a sharp left uppercut into Gillogly's ribs.  
McKay hits home with a solid right hook.  
McKay lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
McKay is on target with a solid left hook.  
McKay steps inside and throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  McKay clinches his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McKay lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
McKay gets on the inside and manages to force Gillogly into the corner.  McKay lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gillogly's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Gillogly's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Gillogly's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Gillogly throws a left hook, but McKay ties up his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gillogly tries to keep the action at long range.  McKay waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Gillogly lands an overhand right.  
McKay is looking to close the distance.  Gillogly throws a right hook, but McKay holds on to his opponent.  McKay leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, McKay pushes his forearm into Gillogly's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McKay.  
Gillogly tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
McKay lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

McKay closes the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McKay digs in a left hook to his opponents body.

Gillogly closes the distance.  McKay connects with a MASSIVE right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE GILLOGLY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
McKay senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  McKay lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a cross to the head, AND DROPS GILLOGLY!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is McKay!
