Juan Verdugo vs Alejandro Almas

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Mexico State promoted show at Bronco Torralba Gym, Ecatepec,  taking place on 04/11/2039:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Mexico-Mexico State Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TVC Deportes, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Verdugo (13(6) - 1) who hails from Naucalpan, Mexico and Alejandro Almas(18 - 27(1) - 5) from Ecatepec, Mexico.  Verdugo weighed in at 140 pounds, while Almas weighed in at 139 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Emilio Llano, and the three ringside judges are Pablo Mare, Noe Moreno and Felippe Minier.  

Round 1: 

Verdugo gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Verdugo clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Verdugo pushes his forearm into Almas's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Verdugo to stop fouling.

Verdugo forces Almas to back into the ropes.  Verdugo pivots to the side of his opponent.  Almas throws a right uppercut, but Verdugo clinches his opponent.  Verdugo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Verdugo and breaks the clinch.
