Sid Fitzsimmons vs Matt Ballan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-New Jersey promoted show at Bart Menia Gym, Paterson,  taking place on 04/12/2039:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-New Jersey Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sid Fitzsimmons (20 - 13(3) - 3) who hails from Newark, USA and Matt Ballan(21(7) - 6(3) - 2) from Newark, USA.  Fitzsimmons weighed in at 139 pounds And 1 ounces, while Ballan weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan McLoughlin, and the three ringside judges are Lee Bowell, Ewan McLoughlin and Cody Normand.  

Round 1: 

Ballan gets on the inside.  Ballan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  Ballan wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Fitzsimmons dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ballan lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Fitzsimmons is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  
Ballan closes the distance and walks Fitzsimmons down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Ballan lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Ballan steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Ballan attempts to land a left hook, but Fitzsimmons blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ballan closes the distance.  Ballan slams a nasty left hook into his opponents body.  FITZSIMMONS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Fitzsimmons quickly recovers. 
Ballan manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Ballan lands a left uppercut.  
Ballan digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Ballan lands a cross to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Ballan advances into close range and digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ballan lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
It looks like Fitzsimmons has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Ballan steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ballan lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Ballan ties up his opponent.  Ballan pushes his forearm into Fitzsimmons's face.  The referee warns Ballan and breaks the clinch.  
Fitzsimmons sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ballan EXPLODES a nasty left uppercut into his opponents face.  FITZSIMMONS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Fitzsimmons quickly recovers. 
Ballan lands a left hook to the head, a jab to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Ballan lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fitzsimmons lands a jab to Ballan's body.  
Ballan walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ballan lands a right hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Fitzsimmons quickly recovers. 
Ballan gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Fitzsimmons is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Ballan drives a left hook into Fitzsimmons's liver.  
Ballan is on target with a left hook to Fitzsimmons's body.  
Ballan lands a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fitzsimmons's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Fitzsimmons's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Fitzsimmons's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Fitzsimmons's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Ballan forces Fitzsimmons to retreat into the corner.  Ballan lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DROPS FITZSIMMONS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Fitzsimmons almost instantly recovers. 
Ballan throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Ballan clinches his opponent.  Ballan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ballan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Ballan lands a right hook.  Ballan clinches his opponent.  Ballan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Ballan uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Fitzsimmons's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Ballan about fouling.  
Ballan advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ballan lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND KNOCKS FITZSIMMONS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Fitzsimmons almost instantly recovers. 
Ballan manages to force Fitzsimmons into the corner.  Ballan digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Fitzsimmons quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ballan lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Ballan manouvers his opponent into the blue corner.  Fitzsimmons throws a left hook, but Ballan ties up his opponent.  Ballan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ballan closes the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ballan cuts off the ring, trapping Fitzsimmons in a corner.  Ballan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ballan advances into close range and drives a right hook into Fitzsimmons's ribs.  
Fitzsimmons is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Ballan steps inside and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.

Fitzsimmons pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ballan digs in a solid right hook to Fitzsimmons's body.  
Fitzsimmons is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Ballan lands a FIERCE left hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE FITZSIMMONS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Fitzsimmons now seems to have his senses back.  
Ballan lands a cross.  
Ballan manouvers Fitzsimmons onto the ropes.  Ballan connects with a hurtful left hook.  FITZSIMMONS HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Ballan!
