Diego Irong vs Brad Vela

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Philippines-Rizal promoted show at Rodriguez Karingal, Rodriguez,  taking place on 02/01/2040:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Philippines-Rizal Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Irong (29(21) - 7(2) - 2) who hails from Cainta, Philippines and Brad Vela(6 - 9 - 3) from Antipolo, Philippines.  Both Irong and Vela weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rafael Camargo, and the three ringside judges are Rodrigo Macapinlac, Zelipe Victoria and Franco Gurule.  

Round 1: 

Vela gets on the inside.  Irong lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Irong lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Irong is looking to close the distance and drives a sharp left uppercut into Vela's ribs.  Irong clinches his opponent.  Irong pushes his forearm into Vela's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Irong.  
Irong digs in a stinging left hook to Vela's body.  Irong clinches his opponent.  Irong is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Irong is on target with a telling right hook to his opponents body.  VELA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Irong ties up his opponent.  Irong throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Vela dabs at his face checking for damage.  
The right shot from Irong could be enough to force the stoppage!  Irong crashes a spiteful right uppercut to his opponents body.  VELA IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Irong lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  It looks like Vela has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Vela attempts to land a jab, but Irong dodges the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Irong advances into close range and is on target with a left hook to Vela's body.  Irong holds on to his opponent.  Irong leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Irong's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Irong lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Irong lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Irong snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
Vela attempts to land a right hook, but Irong sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Irong lands a big left hook.  VELA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Vela almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Vela gets on the inside.  Irong lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Irong lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Vela quickly recovers. 
Irong throws a right uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Irong ties up his opponent.  Irong leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Irong advances into close range.  Vela throws a right uppercut, but Irong holds on to his opponent.  Irong tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Vela behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Irong lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Irong ties up his opponent.  Irong leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Irong's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Vela could be stopped here, if Irong can find the right shot!  Irong lands a left hook, cross and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  The winner by KO is Irong!
