Leon Butler vs Brin Carmody

Boxing Daily Report from the Leprechaun Promotions promoted show at Leon Brogan Gym, Belfast,  taking place on 17/02/2040:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern Ireland Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Lights Out Leon Butler (19(7) - 7(3)) who hails from Bangor, UK and Brin Carmody(15 - 9 - 1(NC)) from Belfast, UK.  Both Butler and Carmody weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James McAfee, and the three ringside judges are Daniel Maguire, Eoin McPhee and Josh Brannon.  

Round 1: 

Butler steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Butler drives a left hook into Carmody's liver.  
Butler closes the distance and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.

Butler advances into close range and manages to force Carmody into the corner.  Butler quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Butler lands a solid right uppercut.  Butler tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Butler quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Butler hits home with a stinging cross.  Butler attempts to land a jab, but Carmody slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Butler is looking to close the distance.  Butler pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a solid right hook.  
Butler lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Carmody feints a left hook, but Butler is not fooled and responds with a sharp right hook.

Butler is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Butler lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Carmody recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carmody's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Carmody's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Carmody's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Carmody's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Carmody pivots to the side of his opponent and snaps his opponents head back with a stinging jab.  
Carmody is looking to keep his distance.  Butler lands a stinging overhand left.  
Butler is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Butler walks Carmody down, trapping him on the ropes.  Butler lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Butler lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.

Carmody lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.
