Sulaiman Apea vs Nhlanhla Ngcongca

Boxing Daily Report from the Ssenjovu Promotions promoted show at Durban Sono, Durban,  taking place on 02/03/2040:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-KwaZulu-Natal Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sulaiman Apea (16(6) - 8(8)) who hails from Durban, South Africa and Nhlanhla Ngcongca(6 - 6 - 2) from Umlazi, South Africa.  Apea weighed in at 139 pounds and 12 ounces, while Ngcongca weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ollie Rensburg, and the three ringside judges are Modest Van Dyk, Lehlohonolo Cardoso and Khalon Cardoso.  

Round 1: 

Apea is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Apea connects with a cross.  
Apea steps inside and lands a right hook.  
Apea pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Apea manouvers Ngcongca into a neutral corner.  Apea lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Apea clinches his opponent.  Apea pushes his forearm into Ngcongca's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Apea attempts to land a left uppercut, but Ngcongca sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Apea lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Apea forces Ngcongca to back into the corner.  Apea pivots to the right of his opponent.  Apea lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Apea holds on to his opponent.  Apea leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Apea's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Ngcongca quickly recovers.

Apea advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Apea lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Apea lands a stiff jab.  
Apea is looking to close the distance and drives a left uppercut into Ngcongca's ribs.  
Apea is looking to keep his distance.  Apea contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Ngcongca tries to land a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Apea steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Apea holds on to his opponent.  Apea leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Apea is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Apea lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Apea clinches his opponent.  Apea is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Apea tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Ngcongca behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Apea to stop fouling.

Apea quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Apea attempts to land a jab, but Ngcongca sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Apea steps inside.  Apea pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Apea throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Apea drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Ngcongca throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Apea steps inside.  Ngcongca attempts to land a left hook, but Apea sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Apea digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  Apea clinches his opponent.  Apea leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Apea is on target with a stinging left hook to Ngcongca's liver.  
Ngcongca hits home with a left uppercut.  Ngcongca throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Apea advances into close range and lands a right hook.  
Apea lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ngcongca is looking to close the distance.  Apea lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body, AND NGCONGCA IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Apea knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Apea lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
It looks like Ngcongca has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Apea steps away from his opponent.  Apea feints a left, and then connects with an overhand right.  
Apea finds the target with a jab.  Apea tries to land a jab, but Ngcongca sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Ngcongca's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Apea steps inside and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS NGCONGCA!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Apea!
