Dai Zappa vs Sam Kerry

Boxing Daily Report from the Keal Wade promoted show at Shreveport Nesbit, Shreveport,  taking place on 07/03/2040:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Louisiana Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dai Zappa (5 - 5) who hails from Shreveport, USA and Sam Kerry(6 - 13(1) - 8) from Shreveport, USA.  Zappa weighed in at 126 pounds, while Kerry weighed in at 126 pounds And 13 ounces.    As Kerry came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Zach Hannah, and the three ringside judges are Alen Pritchard, Alen Pritchard and Ian de Vigny.  

Round 1: 

Zappa advances into close range and digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Zappa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Zappa throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Zappa manages to force Kerry into the corner.  Zappa drives a left hook into Kerry's ribs.  
Zappa lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Zappa closes the distance.  Zappa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kerry throws a right uppercut, but Zappa holds on to his opponent.  Zappa uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Kerry's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Zappa.  
Zappa lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Zappa advances into close range and lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Zappa forces Kerry to retreat into a corner.  Zappa hits home with a right hook.  
Zappa lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Zappa lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Zappa hits home with a left hook.  
Zappa is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Zappa throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kerry's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Zappa throws a right hook, but misses the target.  Zappa ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Zappa pushes his forearm into Kerry's face.  The ref breaks Zappa's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kerry gets on the inside.  Zappa is on target with a left uppercut to Kerry's ribs.  Zappa clinches his opponent.  Zappa pushes his forearm into Kerry's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Zappa to stop fouling.  
Zappa manages to force Kerry onto the ropes.  Zappa lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Zappa lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Kerry almost instantly recovers. 
Zappa digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Zappa drives a stinging right hook into Kerry's body.  
Zappa is on target with a left uppercut to Kerry's body.

Zappa attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Kerry's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Kerry's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kerry's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Kerry throws a right hook, but Zappa ties up his opponent.  Zappa uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Kerry behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Zappa about fouling.

Zappa attempts to land a jab, but Kerry sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Zappa dabs at his face checking for damage.  Zappa has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
