Lakista Kathurima vs James Lekimeju

Boxing Daily Report from the South African Boxing Kingdom promoted show at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi,  taking place on 30/04/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Lakista Kathurima (12(10) - 2(1)) who hails from Kisumu, Kenya and James Lekimeju(7 - 7(1) - 2) from Mombasa, Kenya.  Both Kathurima and Lekimeju weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joe Mwirichia, and the three ringside judges are Sam Waiyaki, Sam Waiyaki and Luister Mutahi.  

Round 1: 

Lekimeju closes the distance.  Kathurima lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Kathurima holds on to his opponent.  Kathurima leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Kathurima pushes his forearm into Lekimeju's face.  The ref breaks Kathurima's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Kathurima gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Kathurima closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.
