Manny Alvear vs Lisandro Toribio

Boxing Daily Report from the Kwofie Promotions promoted show at Ximen Fuentes Gym, Mexicali,  taking place on 28/03/2040:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Mexico-Baja California Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Manny Alvear (13 - 3(1)) who hails from Ensenada, Mexico and Lisandro Toribio(7 - 14(1) - 4) from Ensenada, Mexico.  Alvear weighed in at 121 pounds and 12 ounces, while Toribio weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Xabat Badillo, and the three ringside judges are Xabat Villegas, Eloy Almeida and Xabat Badillo.  

Round 1: 

Toribio steps inside.  Alvear connects with a sharp right hook.  
Alvear gets on the inside.  Alvear pivots to the left of his opponent.  Toribio throws a left hook, but Alvear clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Alvear pushes his forearm into Toribio's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Alvear about fouling.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Alvear.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
