Sammy Labay vs Cortez Luis

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Philippines-Bulacan promoted show at San Jose del Monte Badillo, San Jose del Monte,  taking place on 01/04/2040:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Philippines-Bulacan Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sammy Labay (4(2) - 3 - 1) who hails from Santa Maria, Philippines and Cortez Luis(7 - 21(1) - 7) from San Jose del Monte, Philippines.  Labay weighed in at 130 pounds, while Luis weighed in at 129 pounds And 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Francisco Celeste, and the three ringside judges are Berto Layumas, Tajo Pozos and Jesus Bacallao.  

Round 1: 

Labay is on target with a sharp left uppercut.

As they grapple, Labay pushes his forearm into Luis's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Luis quickly recovers.

Labay gets on the inside.  Luis throws a left uppercut, but Labay clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Labay pushes his forearm into Luis's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Labay about fouling.

Labay is on target with a jab.  
Labay closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Labay lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Labay walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Labay lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Labay hits home with a left uppercut.  
Labay hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Labay lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Labay sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Labay digs in a left uppercut to Luis's ribs.  Labay clinches his opponent.  Labay pushes his forearm into Luis's face.  The referee warns Labay and breaks the clinch.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Luis's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Luis's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Luis's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Labay thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Luis away.  Labay lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head, AND LUIS IS DOWN!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Labay!
