Matthew Mardock vs Bob Vartan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Canada-Manitoba promoted show at Bradley Pearce Gym, Winnipeg,  taking place on 02/04/2040:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Canada-Manitoba Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matthew Mardock (7(1) - 2(1)) who hails from Winnipeg, Canada and Bob Vartan(5 - 7 - 3) from Winnipeg, Canada.  Mardock weighed in at 146 pounds and 5 ounces, while Vartan weighed in at 147 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Dave Cloy, and the three ringside judges are Theo Walker, Blake Brydon and William Fergeson.  

Round 1: 

Mardock closes the distance and throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Mardock clinches his opponent.  Mardock is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mardock to stop fouling.

Mardock lands two right hook's to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Vartan steps to the outside.  Mardock lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Mardock whips in a nasty right hook to Vartan's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE VARTAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Vartan recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Mardock steps inside and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Vartan recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Mardock leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Mardock throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Mardock's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
