Ricky Gillies vs John Shortt

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Rank promoted show at Hialeah Cruce, Hialeah,  taking place on 07/04/2040:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Florida Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ricky Gillies (25(16) - 4(3)) who hails from Port St. Lucie, USA and John Shortt(15 - 19(4) - 6) from Miami, USA.  Both Gillies and Shortt weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stuart Gillund, and the three ringside judges are Pedro Buendia, Hugh Guffy and Rob Quigg.  

Round 1: 

Gillies connects with a solid cross.
