Amer Maalouf vs Ibrahim Qayyum

Boxing Daily Report from the Sembene Promotions promoted show at Sana'a Tahir, Sana'a,  taking place on 10/04/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Yemen-Sana'a Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Amer Maalouf (23 - 9 - 1) who hails from Sana'a, Yemen and Ibrahim Qayyum(15 - 6(5) - 3) from Sana'a, Yemen.  Both Maalouf and Qayyum weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Waqar Hawi, and the three ringside judges are Aftab Guler, Kashif Bouazizi and Yasin Zamani.  

Round 1: 

Maalouf advances into close range.  Qayyum pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Maalouf sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Maalouf closes the distance and forces Qayyum to back into a neutral corner.  Maalouf connects with a solid right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Qayyum dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Maalouf sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Qayyum throws a left uppercut, but Maalouf ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Maalouf pushes his forearm into Qayyum's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
