Brin Irwin vs Joseph McClard

Boxing Daily Report from the The wright promotion promoted show at Leicester McClammy, Leicester,  taking place on 19/04/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Central England Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brin Irwin (15 - 21(1) - 3) who hails from Norwich, UK and Joseph McClard(10(3) - 1) from Warrington, UK.  Irwin weighed in at 129 pounds And 12 ounces, while McClard weighed in at 129 pounds And 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Deri Hare, and the three ringside judges are Owen Wallace, Paul McIver and Ricky McConachie.  

Round 1: 

McClard lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McClard pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook.

McClard is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross.  McClard tries to land a cross, but Irwin blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
McClard advances into close range.  McClard sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
McClard senses Irwin is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  McClard digs in a weighty left uppercut to Irwin's ribs.  IRWIN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Irwin has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Irwin dabs at his face checking for damage.  Irwin has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

McClard throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McClard about fouling.

McClard steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Irwin recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
