Nicandro Pico vs Santiago Licea

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Nuevo Leon promoted show at Edmundo Aja Gym, Monterrey,  taking place on 26/04/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Nuevo Leon Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nicandro Pico (17(14) - 3) who hails from Ciudad Apodaca, Mexico and Santiago Licea(14 - 5(1) - 1) from Ciudad Apodaca, Mexico.  Pico weighed in at 139 pounds And 4 ounces, while Licea weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Neper Carabello, and the three ringside judges are Carlos Benavente, Neper Carabello and Ryo Capellan.  

Round 1: 

Pico lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Pico closes the distance.  Pico quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Pico is on target with a firm left uppercut.  Pico ties up his opponent.  Licea leans on his opponent using all his weight. Licea tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Pico's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Licea.  
Pico lands a sharp right uppercut.  Pico clinches his opponent.  Pico leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Pico's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Pico lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Pico drives a left hook into Licea's body.  
Pico is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Pico ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pico pushes his forearm into Licea's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Pico advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Licea switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Pico slips the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Pico advances into close range.  Licea hits home with a right hook.  Pico ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pico pushes his forearm into Licea's face.  The referee warns Pico and breaks the clinch.

Licea switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp left hook to Licea's ribs.

Pico walks Licea down, trapping him on the ropes.  Pico lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Pico lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Pico lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pico lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Licea almost instantly recovers. 
Licea tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.

Pico advances into close range and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Licea almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Pico lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  Pico ties up his opponent.  Pico leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Pico's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Pico walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Pico throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the punch.  Pico ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pico pushes his forearm into Licea's face.  The referee warns Pico and breaks the clinch.

Licea now seems to have his senses back.  
Pico steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Pico ties up his opponent.  Pico leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Pico to stop holding.  
Licea pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Pico lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Pico throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Licea time to recover.  
Pico advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head, KNOCKING LICEA DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Pico!
