Nemesio Marciel vs Billy Leithead

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at USF Track and Field Stadium, Tampa,  taking place on 07/07/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Nemesio Marciel (3 - 0) who hails from Long Beach, USA and Billy Leithead(4 - 10 - 2) from Thornton, USA.  Marciel weighed in at 154 pounds, while Leithead weighed in at 153 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Pettry, and the three ringside judges are Paul Maskell, Chris Villalta and Rob Quigg.  

Round 1: 

Marciel lands a jab.

Leithead walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Leithead throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Marciel to the neutral corner.  He lectures Leithead but does not take away a point.  
Marciel lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  Marciel attempts to land a jab, but Leithead blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Marciel digs in a left hook to Leithead's liver.  Marciel holds on to his opponent.  Marciel is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Marciel about fouling.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Leithead's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Leithead's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Leithead's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Leithead is desperate to make more of an impact on his opponent.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref doesnt appear to have noticed the foul and signals for the action to continue.
