Alec Mahoney vs Clinton Richards

Boxing Daily Report from the Liam Robinson promoted show at The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford,  taking place on 18/06/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern England Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alec Mahoney (7(4) - 0) who hails from Blackburn, UK and Clinton Richards(12 - 6(1) - 2) from Huddersfield, UK.  Mahoney weighed in at 135 pounds, while Richards weighed in at 134 pounds And 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Chris Murphy, and the three ringside judges are Mervyn Cour, Dominic Patterson and Robert Macmillan.  

Round 1: 

Mahoney gets on the inside and digs in a firm right hook to his opponents body.  Mahoney clinches his opponent.  Mahoney pushes his forearm into Richards's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mahoney.  
Richards steps to the outside.  Mahoney feints a cross, and then lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.

Mahoney closes the distance and connects with a right hook.  Mahoney ties up his opponent.  Mahoney tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Richards behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mahoney.

Mahoney lands a powerful right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE RICHARDS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Richards quickly recovers.
