Mark Albano vs Michael Nieves

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Melbourne,  taking place on 18/08/2040:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the WRBC Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Marvelous Mark Albano (22(11) - 1 - 1) who hails from Adelaide, Australia and Michael Nieves(58(41) - 5(4) - 1) from Long Beach, USA.  Both Albano and Nieves weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Christou, and the three ringside judges are John Lewis, Ian Niven and Owen MacCallum.  

Round 1: 

Albano connects with a cross.  Albano tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
