Nathan McLain vs Eoin Delany

Boxing Daily Report from the Don Kingahan promoted show at Dundalk Moloney, Dundalk,  taking place on 13/09/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Ireland, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Nathan McLain (17(4) - 0) who hails from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland and Eoin Delany(12 - 23(1) - 8) from Cork, Ireland.  McLain weighed in at 139 pounds and 11 ounces, while Delany weighed in at 139 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Shamus Quirke, and the three ringside judges are Aaron Hearn, Fionn Delaney and Brandon Whalen.  

Round 1: 

McLain attempts to land a jab, but Delany sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
McLain advances into close range and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Delany drives a jab into his opponents body.  
McLain steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

McLain steps inside and lands a right hook.  McLain clinches his opponent.  McLain is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.

McLain steps inside and manages to force Delany onto the ropes.  McLain lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McLain dabs at his face checking for damage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Delany's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Delany's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Delany's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
