Akil Kanda vs Akhil Gupta

Boxing Daily Report from the AI India-Tamil Nadu promoted show at Azam Abdelnour Gym, Chennai,  taking place on 22/09/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the India-Tamil Nadu Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Akil Kanda (1 - 4 - 1) who hails from Chennai, India and Akhil Gupta(20(9) - 7(5) - 1) from Chennai, India.  Kanda weighed in at 129 pounds and 10 ounces, while Gupta weighed in at 129 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Girish Mehra, and the three ringside judges are Ananth Takshak, Madhav Kamdar and Randeep Sharma.  

Round 1: 

Kanda lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Gupta advances into close range and drives a stinging right hook into his opponents body.  Gupta attempts to land a left uppercut, but Kanda parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gupta advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gupta lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Gupta holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Gupta pushes his forearm into Kanda's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gupta to stop fouling.  Kanda recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Gupta closes the distance and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  Gupta ties up his opponent.  Gupta leans on his opponent using all his weight. Gupta uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Kanda's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gupta lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Gupta lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gupta lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DROPS KANDA TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Kanda is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Gupta senses Kanda is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Gupta is on target with a forceful left hook to Kanda's liver.  KANDA IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Kanda now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Gupta gets on the inside and walks Kanda down, trapping him in a corner.  Gupta is on target with a left uppercut to Kanda's body.

Gupta lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Gupta clinches his opponent.  Gupta leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Kanda recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gupta lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Gupta clinches his opponent.  Gupta is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Gupta pushes his forearm into Kanda's face.  The referee warns Gupta and breaks the clinch.  Kanda almost instantly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kanda's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kanda's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Kanda's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.
