Charles Creer vs Kris Towns

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Arkansas promoted show at Mark Cook Gym, Fayetteville,  taking place on 03/10/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Arkansas Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Charles Creer (19 - 13(2) - 5) who hails from Little Rock, USA and Kris Towns(22(14) - 5(2)) from Little Rock, USA.  Creer weighed in at 140 pounds, while Towns weighed in at 139 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Paul Lightbody, and the three ringside judges are Sam Mairs, Phil Maben and Mel Tassie.  

Round 1: 

Creer sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Creer throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Towns advances into close range.  Towns sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Towns lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  Towns holds on to his opponent.  Towns is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Towns about fouling.  
Towns tries to step out of his opponents range.  Creer feints a jab, and then lands an overhand left.  
Towns advances into close range and manages to force Creer into the corner.  Towns lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Creer quickly recovers. 
Towns lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Towns holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Towns drives a left hook into his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Towns has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Creer pivots to the left of his opponent.  Creer attempts to land a left hook, but Towns blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Towns sidesteps to the left of his opponent andTowns wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Creer dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Towns lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Towns feints a right hook, and then digs in a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Towns walks Creer down, trapping him on the ropes.  Towns lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Creer throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm right hook to Creer's body.  
Towns connects with a left hook.  Towns holds on to his opponent.  Towns leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Creer switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Towns dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Creer steps inside.  Towns lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Towns holds on to his opponent.  Towns uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Creer behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Towns is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Creer is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Towns sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Towns pivots from in front of his opponent.  Creer throws a left hook, but Towns clinches his opponent.  Towns hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Towns is on target with a stinging right hook to Creer's ribcage.  
Creer hits home with a left hook.  Towns ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Towns pushes his forearm into Creer's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Towns to stop fouling.  
Towns whips in a mean left hook to his opponents liver.  DOWN GOES CREER!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Creer is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a cross.  
Towns walks Creer down, trapping him in the corner.  Towns tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Towns lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Towns sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Towns lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS CREER!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like Creer has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Creer's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Creer's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
