Santiago Vas vs Mark Steuart

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Alabama Theatre, Birmingham,  taking place on 10/11/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Vas (8(3) - 0) who hails from Goiania, Brazil and Mark Steuart(17 - 8(1)) from Baltimore, USA.  Both Vas and Steuart weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stephen Glasford, and the three ringside judges are Zachary Caffrey, Seth Malpass and Louis Garrow.  

Round 1: 

Steuart closes the distance and digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Vas connects with a sharp right uppercut.

Vas gets on the inside.  As Steuart tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Vas dabs at his face checking for damage.  Vas has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Vas finds the target with a jab.  
Vas tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Vas advances into close range and lands a solid left uppercut.  
Steuart is looking to close the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Vas ties up his opponent.  Vas is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Vas and breaks the clinch.
