John Markle vs Paul Mattison

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Georgia promoted show at The Mansion, Atlanta,  taking place on 08/11/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are John Markle (6(1) - 0) who hails from Macon, USA and Paul Mattison(21 - 18(6) - 6) from Philadelphia, USA.  Markle weighed in at 125 pounds And 7 ounces, while Mattison weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jake Kilgore, and the three ringside judges are Leo Crowder, Mark Billie and Hugh Wilk.  

Round 1: 

Markle hits home with a cross.  
Markle steps inside and hits home with a solid left uppercut.  
Markle is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Mattison switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Markle blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Markle steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Markle lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Markle closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Markle steps inside and drives a stinging left uppercut into Mattison's liver.  
Markle walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Markle lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Markle quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a stinging right uppercut into Mattison's ribcage.  
Markle digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Markle ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Markle gets on the inside.  Mattison pivots to the side of his opponent.  Markle lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Markle lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Markle advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Markle steps inside.  Markle pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  As Markle tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mattison dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Markle hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Mattison tries to keep the action at long range and tries to land an overhand right, but Markle dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Markle advances into close range.  Mattison pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mattison throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mattison's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Mattison throws a left uppercut, but Markle clinches his opponent.  Markle leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Mattison uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Markle behind the head. 
Markle digs in a firm right uppercut to Mattison's body.  
Markle lands a right hook.  
Markle gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to Mattison's body.  
Markle drives a firm left hook into his opponents ribs.  Markle clinches his opponent.  Markle pushes his forearm into Mattison's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Markle about fouling.  
Markle gets on the inside and connects with a solid left hook.  
Mattison throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Markle walks Mattison into a neutral corner.  Markle is on target with a sharp right uppercut to Mattison's body.  
Markle closes the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Markle clinches his opponent.  Markle is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Markle's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Markle connects with a left hook.  Markle throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Markle.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.  
Markle knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Markle lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS MATTISON TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Markle!
