Daniel Mathieson vs Daniel Bardsley

Boxing Daily Report from the CP Boxing promoted show at Georgetown Magnus, Georgetown,  taking place on 14/12/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Guyana Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on NCN, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Daniel Mathieson (8 - 19(6)) who hails from New Amsterdam, Guyana and Daniel Bardsley(19(14) - 4(4)) from Georgetown, Guyana.  Both Mathieson and Bardsley weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Pate, and the three ringside judges are Chris Potts, Chris Edmund and Mel Sutherlin.  

Round 1: 

Bardsley connects with a stinging cross.  
Mathieson closes the distance.  Mathieson pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mathieson digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Mathieson throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mathieson is looking to keep his distance.  Bardsley feints a right, and then lands an overhand right followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Bardsley lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Mathieson is looking to close the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mathieson attempts to land a left hook, but Bardsley slips the shot and counters with a solid cross.

Mathieson tries to keep the action at long range.  Bardsley finds the target with a jab.

Mathieson sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mathieson attempts to land a jab, but Bardsley slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mathieson gets on the inside.  Bardsley digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Bardsley lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Mathieson drives a right hook into Bardsley's ribs.  
Bardsley finds the target with a jab.  
Bardsley quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Bardsley is looking to close the distance.  Mathieson tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a forceful right uppercut to his opponents body.  MATHIESON IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mathieson's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Mathieson's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Bardsley drives a sharp left hook into Mathieson's body.  
Bardsley manages to force Mathieson into a corner.  Bardsley pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Bardsley digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Bardsley is on target with a stinging cross.  
Bardsley lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Mathieson almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mathieson tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Mathieson closes the distance.  Bardsley is on target with a sharp left hook to Mathieson's body.  
Bardsley drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Bardsley circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Mathieson lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Bardsley walks Mathieson down, trapping him in a corner.  Mathieson is on target with a jab.  
Mathieson gets on the inside.  Bardsley lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Mathieson sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Mathieson steps to the outside.  Bardsley hits home with a cross.  
Mathieson steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Bardsley on the ropes.  Bardsley attempts to land a left hook, but Mathieson parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mathieson gets on the inside.  Bardsley wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mathieson dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mathieson attempts to land a jab, but Bardsley sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook to Mathieson's body.  
Mathieson gets on the inside.  Bardsley lands a right hook.  
Mathieson lands a right hook.  
Bardsley lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Bardsley drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Bardsley lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Mathieson's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Mathieson's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Bardsley digs in a right uppercut to Mathieson's ribs.  
Bardsley feints a cross, but Mathieson is not fooled and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mathieson closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Mathieson attempts to land a left hook, but Bardsley slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Bardsley lands a FIERCE right uppercut.  MATHIESON IS HURT!  
Bardsley senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Bardsley lands a right uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two right hook's to the body followed by a cross to the head, DROPPING MATHIESON TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Bardsley lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND MATHIESON IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  Mathieson now seems to have got his legs back.  
Bardsley SLAMS a hurtful left hook into his opponents face.  MATHIESON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Mathieson recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mathieson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mathieson is looking to close the distance and tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a telling left hook to Mathieson's body.  DOWN GOES MATHIESON!  He is back up on his feet at 5.

He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS MATHIESON!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Mathieson cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Bardsley!
