Steven Byrnes vs Colin MacLachlan

Boxing Daily Report from the Fistic Inc promoted show at Meadowcourt Stadium, Doncaster,  taking place on 17/12/2040:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport UK, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Steven 6th Degree Byrnes (6(3) - 1) who hails from Leicester, UK and Colin MacLachlan(4 - 2 - 1) from Bradford, UK.  Byrnes weighed in at 200 pounds, while MacLachlan weighed in at 199 pounds And 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is David Fridge, and the three ringside judges are Gyn Gwenn, Rob Reece and Joey Burn.  

Round 1: 

Byrnes lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Byrnes drives a right hook into MacLachlan's body.  
Byrnes gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Byrnes holds on to his opponent.  MacLachlan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Byrnes is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Byrnes and breaks the clinch.  
Byrnes is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Byrnes connects with a cross.  
Byrnes advances into close range.  Byrnes quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Byrnes throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Byrnes clinches his opponent.  Byrnes tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits MacLachlan behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
MacLachlan steps to the outside.  Byrnes feints a jab, and then lands an overhand left.  
Byrnes is looking to close the distance.  MacLachlan throws a left hook, but Byrnes clinches his opponent.  Byrnes tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits MacLachlan behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Byrnes about fouling.  
MacLachlan pivots to the left of his opponent.  Byrnes digs in a left hook to MacLachlan's liver.  
Byrnes lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Byrnes digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Byrnes hits home with a firm right hook.  Byrnes ties up his opponent.  Byrnes is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
MacLachlan is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  
Byrnes gets on the inside.  Byrnes sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Byrnes drives a right uppercut into MacLachlan's body.  
Byrnes lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Byrnes is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as MacLachlan dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Byrnes attempts to land a cross, but MacLachlan sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
MacLachlan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  MacLachlan tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
MacLachlan tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with an overhand right.  
Byrnes drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...MacLachlan's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  MacLachlan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Byrnes is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Byrnes drives a weighty left uppercut into MacLachlan's body.  MACLACHLAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.
