Shevon Kangwa vs Gethin Ruwe

Boxing Daily Report from the Donnelly Boxing promoted show at Kitwe Mwauluka, Kitwe,  taking place on 22/12/2040:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Zambia-Copperbelt Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on ZNBC, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Shevon Kangwa (9 - 3 - 2) who hails from Kitwe, Zambia and Gethin Ruwe(3 - 0 - 1) from Ndola, Zambia.  Both Kangwa and Ruwe weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oringo Namomba, and the three ringside judges are Lakista Maliko, Mablevi Machila and Vashon Kamanga.  

Round 1: 

Ruwe advances into close range and connects with a left uppercut.  
Ruwe is looking to close the distance.  Ruwe pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Ruwe walks Kangwa down, trapping him in the corner.  Ruwe pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ruwe connects with a right hook.  
Ruwe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ruwe advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Ruwe cuts off the ring, trapping Kangwa in the red corner.  Ruwe is on target with a left uppercut.  
Ruwe advances into close range and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Ruwe lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Kangwa has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused nasty swelling  around the right eye.  
Ruwe lands a left hook.  
Kangwa steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ruwe steps inside and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Ruwe steps inside.  Ruwe pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Ruwe lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ruwe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kangwa's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kangwa's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Kangwa's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Ruwe lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ruwe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Kangwa's body.  
Ruwe connects with a stinging right hook.  
Ruwe cuts off the ring, trapping Kangwa in the corner.  Ruwe pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ruwe steps inside.  Ruwe pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to Kangwa's body.  
Kangwa steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a jab, but Ruwe blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Ruwe advances into close range and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Ruwe manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Ruwe lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Kangwa connects with a left hook.

Ruwe is on target with a left uppercut to Kangwa's body.  As Ruwe tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kangwa dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ruwe pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a solid right hook.

Some sustained pressure from Ruwe could be enough to finish Kangwa!  Ruwe lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS KANGWA SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.
