Joshua Kane vs Bruce McCaig

Boxing Daily Report from the Western Promotions promoted show at Western Gym International, Liverpool,  taking place on 24/12/2040:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Joshua Kane (1 - 0) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Bruce McCaig(2 - 21(1) - 5) from Blackpool, UK.  Kane weighed in at 135 pounds, while McCaig weighed in at 134 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ewan Sprout, and the three ringside judges are Blake Cossutta, Bob Healey and Louis Atkins.  

Round 1: 

McCaig tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
McCaig sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Kane attempts to land a jab, but McCaig slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Kane drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Kane is looking to keep his distance.  Kane feints a right hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Kane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Kane lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Kane hits home with a sharp right hook.  Kane clinches his opponent.  Kane leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kane tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Kane finds the target with a jab.  Kane attempts to land a cross, but McCaig sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Kane gets on the inside.  Kane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
McCaig gets on the inside.  McCaig pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kane digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kane pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kane gets on the inside.  Kane pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a sharp left hook.  
Kane pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kane manages to force McCaig into a corner.  Kane pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Kane lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Kane ties up his opponent.  Kane is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kane.  
Kane is on target with a right hook to McCaig's body.  
Kane pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook to McCaig's liver.  
McCaig quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kane lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McCaig throws a left hook, but Kane holds on to his opponent.  Kane leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kane closes the distance.  Kane sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kane pivots to the right of his opponent.  McCaig finds the target with a jab.  
Kane advances into close range.  Kane leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  McCaig attempts to land a right hook, but Kane parries the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Kane digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
McCaig throws a right hook, but Kane clinches his opponent.  McCaig uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Kane behind the head. 
Kane lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCaig's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McCaig's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Kane is looking to close the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Kane ties up his opponent.  Kane tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McCaig behind the head. Kane leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kane connects with a potent cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCCAIG WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  McCaig recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
McCaig closes the distance.  Kane lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  McCaig recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Kane digs in a solid left hook to McCaig's body.  
Kane lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Kane advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kane lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  McCaig quickly recovers. 
Kane lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Kane steps to the outside and lands an overhand right to the head followed by a cross to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Kane closes the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kane gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kane is looking to keep the action on the outside.  McCaig throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Kane SLAMS a SAVAGE cross into his opponents face.  MCCAIG IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
McCaig lands a jab.  
McCaig gets on the inside.  Kane is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Kane lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kane lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Kane lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Kane switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Kane gets on the inside and drives a sharp left hook into his opponents liver.  
McCaig quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kane lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  McCaig almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Kane tries to step out of his opponents range.  McCaig hits home with an overhand left.  
Kane tries to keep the action at long range.  McCaig drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Kane lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a straight 1 - 2.

McCaig is not fighting as well as he'd like.    He throws a hook, and catches Kane low!  The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Kane.  
Kane lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McCaig is desperate to make more of an impact on his opponent.   He steps in close and strikes his opponent with a blatant headbutt!  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  The ref halts the action and sends Kane to the neutral corner.    He warns McCaig that he is heading for a point deduction.  
Kane lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head, AND DROPS MCCAIG TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Kane!
