Aidan Whalen vs Gareth Evans

Boxing Daily Report from the L2LBoxingPromotions promoted show at Swansea Ready, Swansea,  taking place on 18/01/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the British-Wales Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Aidan Whalen (12 - 4(2)) who hails from Cardiff, UK and Gareth Evans(5 - 13(3) - 1) from Swansea, UK.  Both Whalen and Evans weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Griffith Batton, and the three ringside judges are Glyn Bowen, Inigo Rury and Glyn Bowen.  

Round 1: 

Whalen lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Evans is looking to close the distance.  Whalen lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Whalen feints a left hook, but Evans ignores the feint and responds with a right hook.  
Whalen digs in a left hook to Evans's body.  
Whalen steps to the outside and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Whalen switches the action to the outside.  Whalen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with an overhand right.  
Whalen lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Whalen drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Evans is looking to close the distance and manouvers Whalen onto the ropes.  Whalen is on target with a right hook.  As Whalen tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Evans has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Whalen tries to keep the action at long range.  Whalen feints a cross, and then lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.
