Noel Couch vs Gareth McIver

Boxing Daily Report from the International Boxing Fight League promoted show at IBFL HQ, Eugene,  taking place on 18/01/2041:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Noel Couch (3 - 0) who hails from Eugene, USA and Gareth McIver(5 - 12(1) - 4) from New York City, USA.  Couch weighed in at 232 pounds and 8 ounces, while McIver weighed in at 230 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Stephen Greim, and the three ringside judges are Theo Wight, Ethan Mingus and Peter Roger.  

Round 1:

Couch closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Couch clinches his opponent.  Couch pushes his forearm into McIver's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Couch to stop fouling.  
Couch attempts to land a right hook, but McIver sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Couch advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Couch advances into close range.  McIver pivots to the left of his opponent.  McIver attempts to land a right hook, but Couch dodges the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Couch lands a firm right hook.  
Couch lands a stinging cross.  
Couch gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to McIver's ribcage.  
Couch steps inside.  Couch pivots from in front of his opponent.  McIver throws a left hook, but Couch clinches his opponent.  Couch uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits McIver behind the head. Couch leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Couch's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Couch walks McIver down, trapping him in a corner.  Couch lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Couch lands a left hook.  
Couch pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Couch lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  McIver lands a jab.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to McIver.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.
