Jake Ness vs Sam Kerry

Boxing Daily Report from the Shreveport Indicolites promoted show at Kessels Gym, Shreveport,  taking place on 05/02/2041:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Louisiana Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jake Ness (23(12) - 1) who hails from Baton Rouge, USA and Sam Kerry(6 - 14(1) - 8) from Shreveport, USA.  Ness weighed in at 126 pounds, while Kerry weighed in at 126 pounds and 12 ounces.    As Kerry came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Chris Nisbett, and the three ringside judges are Arthur Dougal, James Smillie and Mark Gilchrist.  

Round 1: 

Kerry is looking to close the distance.  Ness quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Ness steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Kerry steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Kerry throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Ness time to recover.  
Ness steps to the outside.  Kerry tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ness lands a sharp left hook.  
Ness lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kerry closes the distance.  Ness is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Kerry sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kerry tries to land a jab, but Ness slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ness lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Kerry gets on the inside.  Ness lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Ness tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Ness hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Ness hits home with a right hook.  
Kerry quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ness is on target with a sharp left hook to Kerry's body.  
Ness switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Ness lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Ness closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kerry's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kerry's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Kerry's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Ness advances into close range and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ness tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Kerry gets on the inside.  Ness lands a right hook to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  
Ness gets on the inside and lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Kerry drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Ness steps to the outside and lands a firm cross to Kerry's body.  
Ness lands a cross to the body, a jab to the head and an overhand right to the head.  
Kerry steps inside.  Ness lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Ness lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Ness lands two right uppercuts followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ness is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Kerry sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ness lands a straight 1 - 2.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Kerry quickly recovers.

Kerry connects with a cross.  
Ness lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Kerry almost instantly recovers. 
Ness connects with a left hook.  
Ness tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kerry connects with an overhand left.  
Ness lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Kerry advances into close range.  Ness is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Ness lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS KERRY DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  It looks like Kerry has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Kerry digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ness lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ness gets on the inside.  Kerry pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ness hits home with a left hook.  
Ness drives a right uppercut into Kerry's body.  
Ness lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Ness is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Ness steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.

Ness gets on the inside.  Kerry sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ness lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, DROPPING KERRY TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Kerry cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Ness!
