Jonathan Sorden vs Davie Saarikoski

Boxing Daily Report from the Kronk Gym II promoted show at Detroit Hojnacki, Detroit,  taking place on 09/02/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-Michigan Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jonathan Sorden (22 - 13(2) - 4) who hails from Grand Rapids, USA and Davie Saarikoski(28(23) - 4(2)) from Detroit, USA.  Both Sorden and Saarikoski weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Louis Orchard, and the three ringside judges are John Swineford, Chris Pakkarinen and Jonathan Bees.  

Round 1: 

Sorden tries to step out of his opponents range.  Saarikoski hits home with a cross.  
Saarikoski closes the distance.  Sorden throws a right hook, but Saarikoski clinches his opponent.  Saarikoski leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Saarikoski pushes his forearm into Sorden's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Saarikoski about fouling.  
Sorden steps to the outside and tries to land a cross, but Saarikoski dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Saarikoski advances into close range and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND SENDS SORDEN TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  Sorden almost instantly recovers. 
Saarikoski is on target with a jab.  
Sorden is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Saarikoski time to recover.  
Saarikoski pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Saarikoski connects with a firm cross.  
Saarikoski closes the distance and walks Sorden down, trapping him in a corner.  Saarikoski pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski attempts to land a cross, but Sorden blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Saarikoski gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Saarikoski tries to land a left hook, but Sorden sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Saarikoski is on target with a firm right hook to Sorden's body.  
Saarikoski is looking to close the distance and manouvers Sorden into the red corner.  Saarikoski drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Saarikoski quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Saarikoski lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sorden's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Sorden's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Saarikoski pivots to the side of his opponent.  Sorden throws a right hook, but Saarikoski ties up his opponent.  Saarikoski pushes his forearm into Sorden's face.  The referee warns Saarikoski and breaks the clinch.
