Jack Bird vs Robert Riddel

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Chapiteau CCSE Maisonneuve, Montreal,  taking place on 25/02/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Jack Bird (2 - 0) who hails from Calgary, Canada and Robert Riddel(1 - 1) from Mississauga, Canada.  Both Bird and Riddel weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Smith, and the three ringside judges are Granger Hinault, Jasper Kopa and Neville Bazil.  

Round 1: 

Bird advances into close range.  Bird quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Bird gets on the inside and connects with a left uppercut.  Bird clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Bird gets on the inside and throws a right uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Bird ties up his opponent.  Bird is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Bird lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Bird tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Bird advances into close range and is on target with a firm left uppercut.  
Bird drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Bird hits home with a right hook.  
Bird lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Bird lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Bird holds on to his opponent.  Bird leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Bird lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Bird lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Bird lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Bird holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Bird pushes his forearm into Riddel's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Bird.  
Bird drives a sharp left uppercut into Riddel's body.  Bird clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Bird pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Bird lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Bird is on target with a left hook to Riddel's ribs.  
Bird closes the distance.  Bird quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Bird lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Bird pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Bird is looking to close the distance and manouvers Riddel onto the ropes.  Bird is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Bird lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Riddel's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Riddel's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Riddel tries to land a left hook, but Bird slips the shot and counters with a cross.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Riddel's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Riddel's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Riddel steps away from his opponent.  Bird hits home with a stinging overhand left.  
Bird is looking to close the distance.  Riddel throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Bird closes the distance and manouvers Riddel into the corner.  Bird lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.

As Bird tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Riddel dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Riddel is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Bird lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Riddel quickly recovers.

Bird steps inside and is on target with a stinging right uppercut to Riddel's body.

Bird walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Bird lands a solid right hook.
