George Mason vs Manuel Escobar

Boxing Daily Report from the Soweto Punch Pros promoted show at Cramton Bowl, Montgomery,  taking place on 03/03/2041:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are George Mason (1(1) - 0) who hails from Halifax, Canada and Manuel Escobar(9 - 13(3)) from Jersey City, USA.  Mason weighed in at 130 pounds, while Escobar weighed in at 130 pounds And 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Kenzie Lovett, and the three ringside judges are Mark Hush, David Nist and James Younie.  

Round 1: 

Escobar closes the distance.  Mason pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mason quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Mason lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mason closes the distance.  Mason sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mason lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  Mason attempts to land a left hook, but Escobar dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.

Escobar throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Mason pushes his forearm into Escobar's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mason.

Mason steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND SENDS ESCOBAR TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Escobar quickly recovers. 
Mason lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Escobar throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mason is looking to close the distance.  Mason pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Mason steps away from his opponent and lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Escobar quickly recovers. 
Escobar steps inside and manages to force Mason onto the ropes.  Escobar quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Escobar digs in a right hook to Mason's body.  Mason ties up his opponent.  Mason is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Mason tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Escobar behind the head. Mason uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Escobar behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mason quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mason lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Mason ties up his opponent.  Mason is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Mason's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mason switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Escobar's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
