John McCaw vs Marlon Bastien

Boxing Daily Report from the Ringside Promotions promoted show at US Airway Center, Phoenix,  taking place on 19/04/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John McCaw (14(8) - 1(1)) who hails from Nashville, USA and Marlon Bastien(23(3) - 14(7)) from Gaineau, Canada.  Both McCaw and Bastien weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Elliot Pritchett, and the three ringside judges are Ian Tosh, Lloyd Bath and James Weir.  

Round 1: 

McCaw lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Bastien steps away from his opponent.  McCaw finds the target with a ramrod jab.

McCaw tries to land a cross, but Bastien sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.

McCaw lands a jab to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  
McCaw lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
McCaw attempts to land a cross, but Bastien slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.

McCaw tries to keep the action at long range and SLAMS a nasty cross into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE BASTIEN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Bastien quickly recovers. 
McCaw feints a jab, and then lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Bastien manouvers McCaw onto the ropes.  McCaw lands a cross.  
Bastien pivots to the side of his opponent.  McCaw lands with a sharp jab.  
McCaw steps to the outside and is on target with a stinging cross.  
McCaw throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Bastien walks McCaw onto the ropes.  Bastien throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCaw's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Bastien's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Bastien's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Bastien's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

McCaw is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head, DROPPING BASTIEN TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
McCaw connects with a WICKED cross.  BASTIEN IS HURT!  Bastien almost instantly gets his legs back. 
McCaw tries to keep the action at long range and lands a solid cross.  
Bastien hits home with a cross.  
McCaw attempts to land a right hook, but Bastien blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Bastien throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a FIERCE right hook.  BASTIEN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Bastien almost instantly gets his legs back. 
McCaw switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Bastien sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
McCaw tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a sharp jab.  
McCaw connects with a cross.  
McCaw lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
McCaw stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  McCaw crashes a mean left uppercut to Bastien's body.  BASTIEN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Bastien has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
McCaw steps inside.  Bastien throws a left hook, but McCaw ties up his opponent.  Bastien pushes his forearm into McCaw's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McCaw switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
McCaw hits home with a sharp jab.  
McCaw hits home with a cross.  
McCaw steps to the outside.  McCaw quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Bastien tries to land a cross, but McCaw sidesteps and counters with a HUGE cross.  BASTIEN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
McCaw feints a jab, and then lands a cross, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head.  
McCaw lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
McCaw knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  McCaw lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, AND BASTIEN IS DOWN!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is McCaw!
