Neil Skene vs Nicandro Campano

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego,  taking place on 22/05/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the North American Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Neil Skene (44(37) - 1(1)) who hails from Boston, USA and Nicandro Campano(24(13) - 3(2)) from Havana, Cuba.  Both Skene and Campano weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Juan Espin, and the three ringside judges are Michael Torry, Blake Green and Robert Rendall.  

Round 1: 

Campano attempts to land a jab, but Skene sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Skene closes the distance.  Skene pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.

Skene sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Skene throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Skene lands a right uppercut to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.

Campano pivots from in front of his opponent.  Campano attempts to land a left hook, but Skene sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Campano drives a left hook into Skene's ribs.  
Campano is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab to the body, a cross to the head and a jab to the body.  
Skene advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Skene lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Skene has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused swelling  around the right eye.  
Campano quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Skene tries to land a jab, but Campano slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Skene lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Skene is looking to close the distance.  Campano lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Skene steps inside.  Skene lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Skene tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Skene pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Skene closes the distance.  Skene pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Skene EXPLODES a mean right hook into his opponents face.  CAMPANO IS HURT!  Campano quickly recovers. 
Skene is on target with a solid left hook to Campano's body.

Skene gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Skene attempts to land a right hook, but Campano blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Skene lands a stinging left hook.  
Skene is on target with a left uppercut.  
Skene is looking to close the distance.  Skene pivots to the side of his opponent and lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Skene lands a firm left hook.  
Skene is looking to close the distance.  Campano connects with a right hook.  
Campano steps to the outside.  Skene sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a sharp overhand right.  
Skene closes the distance and is on target with a CRUSHING left hook.  CAMPANO WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Campano recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Campano's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Campano's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Some sustained pressure from Skene could be enough to finish Campano!  Skene is on target with a nasty left uppercut.  CAMPANO IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Campano tries to step out of his opponents range.  Skene lands a cross followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head, AND CAMPANO IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  
Skene steps inside.  Skene lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, KNOCKING CAMPANO DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Skene!
