Felix Wood vs Greg Meldrum

Boxing Daily Report from the Hands Promotions promoted show at Sun Life Stadium, Miami,  taking place on 13/04/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Felix Wood (0 - 0) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Greg Meldrum(1 - 2) from Waterbury, USA.  Wood weighed in at 140 pounds, while Meldrum weighed in at 139 pounds And 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Pettry, and the three ringside judges are Sam Matteson, Stuart Gillund and Chris Sprout.  

Round 1: 

Wood is on target with a jab.  
Wood lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Meldrum recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Wood is looking to close the distance and digs in a weighty left hook to Meldrum's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MELDRUM WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Wood holds on to his opponent.  Wood pushes his forearm into Meldrum's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Wood.  Meldrum almost instantly recovers. 
Meldrum pivots from in front of his opponent.  Meldrum attempts to land a right hook, but Wood sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Wood lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Wood lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Wood gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Wood ties up his opponent.  Wood leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Wood's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Wood drives a firm right hook into his opponents body.  
Wood is on target with a solid left uppercut to Meldrum's body.  Wood clinches his opponent.  Wood is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Wood throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Wood about fouling.  
Wood manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Wood lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Wood is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Wood digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Wood drives a right hook into his opponents body.  Wood ties up his opponent.  Wood is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Wood tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Meldrum behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Wood lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Wood hits home with a left hook.  
Wood sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging right uppercut to Meldrum's body.  
Wood lands a right hook to the head followed by two left uppercut's to the body.  Wood ties up his opponent.  Wood is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Wood lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Wood digs in a stinging left uppercut to Meldrum's liver.  
Wood lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Wood ties up his opponent.  Wood uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Meldrum's kidney. 
Meldrum tries to step out of his opponents range and throws an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Wood lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Wood manouvers his opponent into the blue corner.  Wood whips in a hurtful left uppercut to his opponents body.  MELDRUM IS HURT!  
Some sustained pressure from Wood could be enough to finish Meldrum!  Wood digs in a weighty right hook to his opponents ribcage.  MELDRUM HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Wood crashes a hurtful left uppercut to Meldrum's body.  MELDRUM IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Meldrum has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Meldrum's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Wood senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Wood lands a right hook to the body followed by two right uppercut's to the head.  He then lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS MELDRUM DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.
