Joey Nvumbi vs Bavo De Jongh

Boxing Daily Report from the African Boxing 3.0 promoted show at South Gym, Soweto,  taking place on 02/05/2041:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-Gauteng Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Nvumbi (10 - 9(1) - 2) who hails from Soshanguve, South Africa and Bavo De Jongh(15 - 12 - 5) from Mamelodi, South Africa.  Both Nvumbi and De Jongh weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Andy Kamba, and the three ringside judges are Charel Cilliers, Geoff Mpontshane and Luvolwethu Khumalo.  

Round 1: 

De Jongh is looking to close the distance.  De Jongh sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  As Nvumbi tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to De Jongh.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Nvumbi pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.
