Felix Wood vs Zack Hughson

Boxing Daily Report from the Hands Promotions promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 18/05/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Felix Wood (1(1) - 0) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Zack Hughson(14 - 20(9) - 3) from Miami, USA.  Both Wood and Hughson weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oliver Craddock, and the three ringside judges are Ian Woodhead, Rob Fulton and Paul Herring.  

Round 1: 

Wood closes the distance.  Wood sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Wood drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Wood is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Wood steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Wood lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Wood clinches his opponent.  Wood leans on his opponent using all his weight. Wood hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Wood lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  Wood ties up his opponent.  Wood is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Wood pushes his forearm into Hughson's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Wood sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Wood lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Wood holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Wood pushes his forearm into Hughson's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hughson throws a left hook, but Wood clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Wood pushes his forearm into Hughson's face.  The ref breaks Wood's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Hughson is looking to keep his distance.  Wood sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Wood steps inside and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Wood clinches his opponent.  Wood uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Hughson's kidney. As they grapple, Wood pushes his forearm into Hughson's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Wood to stop fouling.  
Wood forces Hughson to back into the blue corner.  Wood throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Wood holds on to his opponent.  Wood leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Wood uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Hughson's kidney. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Wood hits home with a solid left uppercut.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Hughson has taken some damage there.  That has caused swelling  around the right eye.  
Wood connects with a right uppercut.  
Hughson throws a left hook, but Wood holds on to his opponent.  Wood is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Wood lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS HUGHSON TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Hughson quickly recovers.

Wood is looking to force the stoppage!  Wood drives a potent left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  HUGHSON IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
It looks like Hughson has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Wood advances into close range and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Hughson recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hughson's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Hughson's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Hughson's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Wood knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Wood digs in a weighty right uppercut to his opponents body.  HUGHSON IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Wood forces Hughson to retreat onto the ropes.  Wood crashes a nasty right uppercut to his opponents body.  HUGHSON IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  Hughson now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Hughson could be stopped here, if Wood can find the right shot!  Wood connects with a nasty left hook.  HUGHSON HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Wood!
