Alejandro Roa vs Manuel Gomez

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Venezuela-Aragua promoted show at Turmero Fabela, Turmero,  taking place on 23/05/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Venezuela-Aragua Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Meridiano TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alejandro Roa (23(9) - 2) who hails from Turmero, Venezuela and Manuel Gomez(23 - 18(6) - 2) from Maracay, Venezuela.  Both Roa and Gomez weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ricardo Banda, and the three ringside judges are Montel Verdin, Larenzo Carro and Jeraldo Galvez.  

Round 1: 

Roa steps inside and connects with a left hook.  Roa clinches his opponent.  Roa is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Roa and breaks the clinch.  
Roa digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Roa lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Roa gets on the inside and lands a FIERCE left hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE GOMEZ WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Gomez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Roa hits home with a sharp left hook.  
Roa closes the distance.  Roa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND SENDS GOMEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Gomez quickly recovers. 
Roa drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  
Roa advances into close range.  Roa pivots from in front of his opponent.  Roa lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Roa clinches his opponent.  Roa leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gomez throws a left hook, but Roa ties up his opponent.  Roa leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Roa's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Roa hits home with a right hook.  
Roa closes the distance and digs in a firm left hook to Gomez's body.  
Roa lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Gomez steps to the outside and is on target with a jab.  Gomez throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Roa throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Roa clinches his opponent.  Roa is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Roa sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Roa tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Roa closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Roa ties up his opponent.  Roa leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Roa's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Roa is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Roa steps inside.  Gomez tries to land a right hook, but Roa sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Roa gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Roa connects with a stinging right uppercut.  
Gomez cuts off the ring, trapping Roa on the ropes.  Gomez pivots to the side of his opponent.  Roa lands with a spiteful jab.  
Roa digs in a stinging right hook to Gomez's body.  Roa clinches his opponent.  Roa pushes his forearm into Gomez's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Roa.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gomez's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Gomez's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Roa is on target with a left uppercut.  
Roa lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND SENDS GOMEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Roa is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Roa lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, DROPPING GOMEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Roa!
